Transliteration

In Bhagavad Gita chapter 2
verse 41, Lord Krishna addresses Arjuna thus... O descendant scion of Kuru dynasty: path of karma yoga finally
leads a serious seeker of spirituality to stage of final decisiveness and further contemplation in matters
spiritual was not necessitated. Our intellect (buddhi) finally reached a firm conclusion and all queries that
existed in past come to roost. This happened only when seeker undertook path of nishkama karma yoga, never
path of sakaam karma yoga!
For a Sakaam karma Yogi, for a traveler of religious path, one who found
contemplating on single identity of God Almighty difficult, one who could not follow path of nishkama karma yoga...
possibilities were endless. Such a Sakaam karma Yogi as per Lord Krishna despite ones best efforts failed to
realize true identity of a soul atman, the spirit within! A Sakaam karma Yogi believed in different attributes of
God almighty... leading to confusion, indecisiveness in matters of spiritual!
The mental disposition of a Sakaam karma Yogi varied from time to time. Unable to
develop firm conviction and faith in the system of God Almighty, Sadhana of such a timid traveler of spiritual path
always remained incomplete. The soul atman of a Sakaam karma Yogi manifested life forms again and again. Through
path of Sakaam karma yoga one could never liberate self from vicious circle of birth and death. A Sakaam karma Yogi
for all practical purposes failed to exercise power of discrimination to reach logical conclusions in life that
finally led one towards God Almighty.
For a Sakaam karma Yogi it seemed intellect (buddhi) were numerous having unlimited
orientations. In other words, Lord Krishna advises Arjuna to follow path of nishkama karma yoga (not sakaam karma
yoga) to reach god in present life. Unless we were resolute in our decisions... we could never arrive at final
conclusions in life! Path of contemplation was the only suitable way for a serious seeker of spirituality to reach
god in present life.
The Explanation

Through Bhagavad Gita
chapter 2 verse 41 Lord Krishna clearly stipulates that it was only path of nishkama karma yoga that led
towards God Almighty. None could reach god via path of sakaam karma yoga, path of delusion... path of
irresoluteness! Sri Krishna advises Arjuna to remain firm in his convictions all the time. For achieving this
state, Lord Sri Krishna advises Arjuna to follow path of contemplation so that all queries within could be
dissolved one by one!
As per Sri Krishna unless a seeker reached stage of firm determination... nothing
could be realized in the world of souls' atmans! Our intellect (buddhi) must reach a single final conclusion. Once
our mental disposition in matters spiritual was coherent... need for further contemplation ceased to exist.
Absolute faith, absolute conviction in domain of God Almighty was necessitated to reach god in present life. Every
human being on mother earth was imbibed with a special power of discrimination that distinguished us from lower
forms of life. Using this power of discrimination, every spiritual seeker could finally realize underlying abstract
hidden truths of life.
Assimilation of spiritual values in life never became possible through path of
sakaam karma yoga. One who had a wavering mind could never succeed in spiritual life. Everything in domain of god
was firm and resolute from beginning of time. It was only through path of contemplation we realized absolute truth
that lay hidden in various scriptures of different religions of world. It was unflinching faith in God Almighty
that paved way for reaching our soul atman within, our true inner self! Everything in field of spirituality was
sublime and needed unearthing, unveiling through path of nishkama karma yoga alone!
Looking from allegorical point of view, Geeta Chapter 2 Verse 41 summarizes
the fact that life in cosmic domain could not be mastered through limited power of senses and mind. All concepts of
spirituality were sublime and could only be understood by reading in between the lines. Unless we followed path of
contemplation, unless we followed path of self enquiry (Neti... not this, not this) we could never reach firm
conclusions in matters spiritual.
Diversity was part of physical manifest world. In the world of God Almighty
everything was monolithic, indivisible. To realize we were part of God Almighty, our undertaking path of nishkama
karma yoga was mandated by god! We were never a physical manifest form... but a spirit, a soul atman manifesting
human form! Every soul atman was part of God Almighty. We could also say God Almighty existed within all human
beings in miniscule form as our soul atman, the spirit within!
When we were a spiritual being, all fears of Arjuna about killing his brethren in
battlefield of Mahabharata were incoherent, misplaced! When our soul atman, the spirit within could not be created
or destroyed... where was the question of lamenting for death of one. Lord Krishna wants Arjuna to realize that
final decisions, conclusions rested within Arjuna himself. Lord Krishna could only act as a guide, but it was only
Arjuna who had to arrive at an unflinching final determinate solution. All the time Lord Krishna wanted Arjuna to
realize that he was not a physical manifest form but a spirit manifesting human form.
Though Arjuna was the right candidate for assimilating teachings of Lord Krishna,
he needed time to contemplate before reaching final conclusions! In a nutshell we could say... the moment human
beings realized that they were primarily a soul atman, the spirit within, cosmic journey of life finally came to an
end! Devoid of dross impurities within, the need for a soul atman to manifest a body further now ceased to exist.
The purified soul atman, the liberated soul atman finally left for abode of god, kingdom of god (Vaikuntha in
Hinduism)!
Summarizing it all, we could say with total confidence and utmost conviction that
if we really wanted to reach god in present life, our undertaking spiritual journey via path of nishkama karma yoga
was an absolute must... something we could never avoid! Realization of abstract truths was spiritual goal of life
for every human being on mother earth. We can reach god in present life, by indulging in karma nishkama karma way!
Offering fruits of karma performed to God Almighty all the time... we finally realized we were a soul atman, the
spirit within!
Our individual ego was the biggest hurdle on path of pure spirituality! It was only
through path of nishkama karma yoga we finally succeeded in demolishing our ego forever. We must realize... we were
only an instrument in hands of God Almighty, doing his bidding all the time! Those with a bloated ego never
undertook spiritual journey in right earnestness. Such human beings always preferred path of religion (path of
rituals)... to path of pure spirituality! They failed to realize that in present Kali Yuga, metal age... Dark Age
none reached God via path of sakaam karma yoga!
Path of nishkama karma yoga was the only route through which human
beings finally reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (stage of absolute nothingness) when not a single thought
entered our brain uninvoked. When our thoughts reached a point of no return, when nothing but our true self alone
existed in cosmos... when we finally reached culmination of all things spiritual, we were truly concentrated on God
Almighty, the only truth of cosmic life!
