Transliteration

In Bhagavad Gita chapter 2
verse 33 Lord Krishna highlights to Arjuna outcome of not fighting this war of dharma (righteousness). If
Arjuna thought not fighting this just war of dharma (righteousness) events him from becoming a sinner... he
was wrong!
On the contrary, if Arjuna refused to fight this battle (war of righteousness),
that would entail a trail of misery for Arjuna. He would be criticized by all for not practicing his Kshatriya
Dharma, following his Svadharma! The duty of a Kshatriya warrior is to fight the enemy head-on.
Feigning ignorance, if Arjuna refuses to fight this war of dharma
(righteousness)... then people, masses would hurl choicest adjectives for practicing cowardice in face of war. All
the merit that Arjuna gained in life would be lost forever. He would not be remembered as a maintainer of dharma
(righteousness) but one who quit the battlefield owing to cowardice.
For a Kshatriya, refusing to indulge in war was the highest level of degradation
that could be experienced by one! Lord Krishna expresses astonishment... as to how Arjuna could negatively view
situation of war when faced with adharma (evil practices in fore). As duty of a Kshatriya was to re-establish
dharma (righteousness), fighting Kauravas was a dharmic affair... never a personal one!
Non-indulgence in war of dharma (righteousness) would definitely make Arjuna a sinner, says
Krishna!
The Explanation

As teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita were an allegory to spiritual
causes in life... through Bhagavad Gita chapter 2 verse 33 Lord Krishna clarifies that path of spirituality
must be chosen by a human being very cautiously. Once chosen... there was no way to revert back! The journey
of spirituality always was one-sided. Once we decide our ultimate goal of life as reaching god in present
life, chances of returning back to material fold were nil. Why?
As per Sri Krishna, life in cosmic domain was not based on rhetoric. Everything in
cosmic world was absolute... fixed from beginning of time! Even the journey of life was fixed for all human beings.
The ultimate goal of life for human beings always was... reaching god at the earliest! This became possible when
human beings by undertaking spiritual journey in present life finally reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya
jnana) and moksha salvation. This abstract truth of life could never be belied by one.
Travelers of religious path never believed such concepts of life, prime reason why
they failed to reach god in present life! In Geeta chapter 2 verse 33 Lord Sri Krishna
clearly says that fighting war of adharma (forces of evil) was the birthright of every human being. Unless we
succeed in establishing absolute control over forces of passion, Moha (extreme emotional attachment), we would
never make it to god in present life! Our overpowering evil tendencies within (adharma) were a necessity of
spiritual path. At no stage of life could we ever say no to evil tendencies within.
For establishing absolute control over five senses and mind, our overpowering
forces of passion and Moha were an absolute must. All attachments of physical world were temporary, meaningless in
the spiritual world! As we were primarily a spirit, a soul atman... the manifest physical form must always indulge
in dictates coming from within. Every soul atman desires reaching cosmic end of life, 8.4 millionth
manifestation... when it finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever! As the highest manifest
stage in cosmic life cycle, it becomes our duty to assist our soul atman in reaching cosmic end of life!
Once we decide to undertake spiritual journey in present life and for any reason if
we decide to quit midway... then as per Sri Krishna such an action would attract wholehearted criticism from world
community... our family members, close relatives and friends. Our refusing to fight war of dharma (righteousness)
within is quitting midway and that was not a sign of serious seeker of spirituality! Our winning war against
adharmic forces of nature within was a necessity of spiritual path. As a serious traveler of spiritual path, we had
no choice but to continue this journey of spirituality truthfully and seriously all the time.
The Svadharma of a human being was fighting adharma (evil forces of nature) that
lay within. At any given point of time, a war between good and evil forces of nature continued unabated within
every human being. To come out of this war unscathed was possible only for Arjuna, a competent Kshatriya warrior or
a Swami Vivekananda of present times. Unless we established absolute control over five senses and mind, we could
never travel spiritual path successfully to reach god in present life. Human beings who thought god can be reached
only via path of yoga meditation were absolutely wrong.
God Almighty can never be reached only by indulgence in teachings contained in
sacred scriptures of different religions of world! We had to remove dross impurities within our soul atman, our
true inner self to reach stage of absolute purity as a soul atman. Unless we negate karma to zero... we could never
reach god, realize our true inner self in present life. Fighting forces of evil was our dharma, our birthright as a
human being! In this fight of dharma (righteousness) even if we lose earthly relationships, on cosmic scale... we
were never a loser in this game of life!
As a human being we became a sinner in eyes of god only when we swayed from path of
righteousness. In this limited earthly sojourn of 70 to 80 years, where was the time for gossip or indulgence in
evil. If we really desire reaching god in present life... we must go wholehearted in establishing total control
over five senses and mind. Only then one reaches stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (stage of absolute nothingness)...
when not a single thought entered our brain uninvoked. Path of yoga meditation, teachings of Bhagavad Gita,
Upanishads and Vedas... all were directed towards human beings undertaking spiritual journey to reach god in
present life. The door to god was always open. We had only to realize and reach within.
