Transliteration

In Bhagavad Gita chapter 2
verse 53, Lord Krishna defines the path to reach stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. As stated by Sri Krishna, buddhi
(intellect) of a human being was unstable. Based on subjects and their varying objects, the buddhi (intellect)
of a human being failed to reach a decisive point. As the thought process within us was incessant... so was
our buddhi (intellect)!
As we grew, we learnt many things from our parents, grandparents and forefathers!
Further on religious preachers gave us varied definitions of religious terminology! Some said reaching swarga
(heaven) was our ultimate goal of life. Others contradicted this saying moksha salvation was the end goal of life.
Our buddhi (intellect) got confused and was unable to settle on one fixed principle of life.
Lord Krishna advises Arjuna to utilize this power of discrimination, something all
human beings had been endowed with. Exercising this power of discrimination when our buddhi (intellect) settled on
one single precept, the ultimate tattva that God Almighty was one and the rest was his manifestation... then devoid
of any confusion, our buddhi (intellect) finally guided human beings towards their only goal of life!
Through geeta chapter 2 verse 53 Lord Sri Krishna finally confirms that once our buddhi
(intellect) believes in the fact that God Almighty was one and only one and rest was his creation, manifestation...
one reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (stage of absolute nothingness) forever! This is the purpose of yoga, the
effort of our soul atman, the spirit within to unite with God Almighty (Brahman, Parmatman in Hinduism).
The Explanation

Following path of Sruti
human beings reached nowhere. Literal reading of sacred scriptures carried no meaning. Whatever our
forefathers taught us also meant little unless we mastered the art of discrimination. It is this power of
discrimination utilizing which human beings finally settled their buddhi (intellect) on the ultimate Tattva
(wisdom) in life. As detailed in scriptures of Hinduism, this Tattva was nothing other than God Almighty,
Brahman in all its glory! The moment we as a spiritual seeker realize that other than God Almighty nothing
existed in cosmos, it was all over for us! There was nothing more to be learnt on spiritual path. Our journey
of spirituality finally comes to an end.
The human form was the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle. It was only in
human form our soul atman, the spirit within liberates self from cycle of birth and death forever... moment human
beings reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in present life! Prompted by our ego, we human beings
indulged in karma that was bonding creating karma bandhan! At this stage our soul atman, the spirit within came to
our rescue. The soul atman residing in our heart all the time prompts us to use power of discrimination to
distinguish right from wrong. To remove confusions from our buddhi (intellect)... our soul atman, the spirit within
prompts us to use path of contemplation all the time.
A serious seeker of spirituality who finally succeeds in mastering path of
contemplation reached god in present life, reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi forever! The stage of Nirvikalpa
Samadhi is one when not a single thought entered our brain uninvoked. On the normal earthly plane human beings
witnessed flow of thousands of thoughts to our brain every second of life. This incessant flow of thoughts to our
brain can only be contained by exercising power of discrimination, power of logistics! By discriminating truth from
false we successfully removed all dross impurities within our soul atman. With passage of time our soul atman, the
spirit within gained absolute purity forever!
Allegorically our soul atman, the spirit within is Lord Krishna residing in our
heart all the time! Whenever we tend to go wrong, it prompts from within to undertake path of absolute truthfulness
always and ever! As detailed by Lord Krishna in Srimad Bhagavad Gita... unless human beings remained truthful all
the time, we could never hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman, Lord Krishna from within! In absence
of promptings of Lord Krishna from within... our buddhi (intellect) stays confused all the time. By adhering to
promptings of Lord Krishna from within, any human being world over could easily realize god, reach god! Most human
beings failed to hear voice of Lord Krishna from within due to promptings of ego (Aham).
The moment we suppressed our ego forever... voice of soul atman, the spirit within
became absolutely clear! Lord Krishna clearly says... do not travel path of spirituality if you cannot remain
truthful in life all the time. Feigning ignorance in matters spiritual did not merit any dividends on path of pure
spirituality! Why pretend and lose our present and future. Following path of religion (path of rituals)... going to
temples, churches and mosques one never gained anything on spiritual front! The stage of single pointed
concentration on god can be reached only when we exercised power of discrimination all the time. The stage of
Nirvikalpa Samadhi was a one-way path. Once achieved, one could never return to daily routines of life... no matter
what! For this primary reason, path of pure spirituality must always be travelled cautiously and
diligently!
Yoga, meditation is the path, practicing path of discrimination, contemplation our
birthright. None world over could ever say... one never had the privilege of going in search of god because one was
poor, wanting! Every single human being world over had equal right over God Almighty. Whatever our condition of
existence... we could all the time go in search of god, if we truly wanted to! Mere desires, wishes, excuses
carried no meaning in spiritual world! Swami Vivekananda, the disciple saint of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa gained
everything in life he wanted to. To travel path of spirituality successfully, one needs willpower exhibited by
Swami Vivekananda. To realize that God Almighty was source of all things cosmic, our travelling path of absolute
truthfulness always and ever was prompted by Lord Krishna from within all the time.
It can rightly be said that we were very near god and also very afar! Those
following path of religion always thought god exists in swarga (heaven)! A serious seeker of spirituality knows
that God Almighty all the time existed in our heart in miniscule form as our soul atman, the spirit within! Lucky
are those who follow precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita to reach God in their
lifetime.
